Aim: To study clinicalepidemiological peculiarities of diabetic macroangiopathies in diabetes mellitus (DM) and diabetes insipidus (DI) combination.
Materials and methods: We examined 2208 cases of DI registered in the RUz in 20062010, 106 DMDI combinations among them. DMDI combination prevalence, calculated for 100 000 of adult and infant population, was assessed analysis of data on patients registered at the endocrine ambulances. The patients had their endocrine and neurologic statuses assessed with blood and urine density investigation, including RIA and measurement of pituitary hormones, ECG, echocardiography, Doppler ultrasound, CT/MRI, etc.
Results: In 2010, the Uzbekistan National Register (UzNR) included 2208 patients with DI, 106 of which (4.8%) had DMDI combination, 22 cases registered in Tashkent. There were 49 men (46.2%) and 57 women (53.7%) among 106 patients with DMDI combination to show no gender differences. Mean age was 37.6±2.6 years. The disease duration in most patients (n=58, 53.7%) was 510 years, the longest one being 48. Age group of 4049 years included patients with the DMDI combination most of all (n=38, 35.5%). In 2010, no lethal cases were registered.
Conclusions: The UzNR system for DI patients allows appropriate DI form diagnosing, disease severity assessing, therapy correcting as well as long-term patients following-up and predicting of the disease outcomes. DI prevalence was 7.9 cases per 100 000 of population with sex ratio 1:1.1. In 20062010, DI incidence among other endocrine pathologies in RUz was 0.46 and 0.37% respectively.
